In all my years if I have learned one thing about sales it is that location is important. If you don't have space in a high-traffic location then you may not have very much sales. If it isn't possible for the customers to walk in, shop, and buy, then you probably won't have too much in the way of sales and profit.
While considering the cost of living for my future relocation to the San Francisco area, I have been looking at housing prices. During one conversation with a friend, he mentioned another person was was renting out a room in his luxury condo in downtown San Francisco for $1,700 per month. If you want to live in the city, you have to pay the price.
I was looking at a recent edition of the newspaper from the town where I grew up in northern Minnesota. The ad for the rental of a log home caught my eye. The printed ad and the ad on their website vary slightly, and even if the home in the picture isn't the same as the home in the ad, it isn't too far off the mark. The home pictures above rents for
$800 per month! It is either a 2 (or 3) bedroom home located on Buckman Lake in northern Itasca county. It sits on 10 acres with 330 feet of lakeshore. The newly constructed home has 2 (or 3) bedrooms, 2 baths, decks, custom woodwork, rock propane fireplace with duel electric baseboard heat and laminated wood floors.
Now how can I get this log home placed on a piece of empty real estate in Golden Gate Park and still pay only this small amount in rent? I'll even take a roommate!!
You can see the ad and other homes this company has built at
